Episodes just really feel like longer spread out Seasons tbh. Bungie's business plan to keep players spread out across the year instead of having a large number on launch and spikes only happening every new weekly story and season finale.

Elitist take: BuildCrafting isnt fun. Its relatively shallow and boring to think out builds and youtubers who make them are lost in a power fantasy which comes down to Orbs of Light. There are very little synigies, actual builds or any fun perks/mods that shake up different perks to behave differently. There needs to be additional aspects that shake up the build, having 4 is so lackluster. Fragments need to be more interesting, so far it seems lik picking 4 will feel like picking 1 perk. Very meaningless changes. Hot take two: Everything in the game being hidden is irritating, the amount of hidden missions, loot, exotics, findables, puzzles ect that are so hidden you absolutely need a guide to figure it out is bad for the game. Destiny is in an age of guides because youtubers have a horde of people assisting in finding these things, but for a singular person its niegh impossible. Example, one of the 2/3 exotics in The Final Shape require you to find various different materials for the Exotic AR. finding the matierials is sheer luck/random chance, youll never know you have to specifically find the motes by killing each boss in every area, in fact a bug stopped me from getting my 17th. Then if you have found these motes you have no idea what to do with them, so you just hang onto them, you may potentially stumble back into the speaker tower and then inspect these odd poles that tell you where these random balls are, but once you collect them all, then what? Oh a chest, cool...."you lack something" but? What? Wtf do i lack exactly? How can you tell me how to unlock something you dont tell me how to unlock? Sigh, back to Datto to tell me how to play the game...oh I NEEDED THIS RANDOM RESORCE TOO? Are you fucking kidding? Locking away content between hard content...fine...but dont lock shit behind a youtube video.

Listening to Datto talk about the Witness ships and not knowing what its going to lead to, pretty mad. Mad respect for the time and dedication to play this story from start to finish.

So i very much have a bad feeling about episodes because why is it that after the amazingness that was final shape we get basically the seasonal model? Wasn’t this supposed to be different? It just feels like weird extra time gated seasons

Gonna be square, none of this is new or interesting. It’s just built to be more punishing, but in the end, this feels like they finished the story and are just trying to monetize everything they’ve made for the game, but the real story is done and now you are on quests for all the side characters and it’s like, ok, but why.

I love how Datto’s reload is Destiny accurate, bunch of bs motions. brake action, loads clip, racks opposite hand bolt. Yup Destiny guns in a nutshell.

Got the bug where the light vestiges keep pointing me to a chest and not giving me a fragment. Also the "shiny" enemys reduse to spawn in most of the cysts. Quite the screw up on something so crucial for a subclass unlock.

My only gripe so far with "Episodes" is that I was hoping they would feel different than seasons. I get it year 10 isn't the time to innovate, however it doesn't address the staleness this content model has delivered over the years. Leaves me half satisfied tbh.

I believe that the skill ceiling in destiny 2 pvp is slowly becoming a game of "who can hold hands the best" I rarely get into 1v1s anymore even in 6v6. There Is a lot of sitting back happening. I like the new health system but we went from shotgun jousting to scout rifle dinking.

6:04 it's absolutely crazy seeing this scene again after having finished The Final Shape. I still remember seeing this cutscene back in the day and being like "wow that sucked, it has nothing to do with the story", but now... man i don't even know. Bungie absolutely cooked with the story and it sucks that none of us realized until now

So far this is a drawn out season with even more time gating (looking at the 3 acts and season pass with time gated levels including the seasonal weapon catalyst). Extremely underwhelming and disappointing.

The amount of times that I use a hammer charge for more drops, and a random pulls me to the next encounter is unreal. The only private version is Legend. This one will go down as meh, kinda like Plunder's activity.

To get the bosses to appear you need to have completed each of the Overthrow locations at least once. Several of the comments in the thread say that you need to finish the Alone in the Dark quest, but I haven't finished it and was able to unlock the exotic quest.

With a void lock warlock running BadJuju I solo all of the altars. Sweaty confetti. 😂🎉

I have very mixed feelings about Enigma Protocol. I think the idea is fun and it feels good when your team cooks but a lot of the details were designed very poorly. I’m pretty displeased with Breach Executable and Failsafe’s vendor system as a whole. It’s not particularly clear what you’re actually supposed to be doing or what any of the upgrades are and the samples thing feels like Ruffians all over again

The Witness is finally dead

Anyone know why the Moth Cyst isnt showing up at all for me? I restarted, started from the beginning and killed the 3 bosses 2x and still nothing ..😢

I like when someone puts a barricade down in normal PVP and I just sit there shooting it with an auto rifle. it must be such a weird strategy cos the Titan gets so confused on what to do. 9/10 times they could just run through and blast me, but they don't for some reason.

I will say that CoO and Warmind are 1 and half seasons, one story but like 2 mini content of seasons

Yeah...still not seeing enough of a shift away from seasons to secure my purchase. I'll keep an eye out for a breakdown of episode 2 and see if things have improved.
